Therefore, Kino wasn't satisfied with what the pearl brought. It didn't bring safety, money, or happiness. Kino thought he could realize his dreams and be rich for the rest of his life. One theme in the book is that when someone is rich, he or she is not necessarily happy. Some people are unsatisfied because they don't have money, but when others become rich, their personalities change. They can become selfish and mean to others. We should all be satisfied with ourselves because we all have qualilties and weaknesses. Some people are soattacted to objects of special beauty and value that they forget evrything else in their lifes. Clearly, there are objects of false beauty ; for Kino and Juana, the pearl was one of them.
